CILS Instructors
Having a college degree in an irrelevant field is not enough to teach at CILS. A school is only as good as its instructors. Our standards are high, and our instructors are quite qualified. In the past, students from other language schools have told us about their instructors who couldn’t spell, didn’t know grammar, and didn’t even understand some words in the materials that they were trying to teach!
CILS was created by seasoned professionals in the fields of education and technology who all share a vision about the future of language teaching and learning. Prior to their decisions to become full-time educators, the teachers employed by CILS all had successful professional careers that gave them practical, adult perspectives which carry over into their lessons. All the CILS instructors have also had several years of experience teaching English in various capacities in Japan—businesses, factories, public and private schools, conversation schools, and homes. The CILS management team also has collective experience in business training, methodological design and management, process analysis and technological applications. The passion for progress among CILS constituents is constant motivation to be meticulous and thorough in research, research analysis, and practical application of research for the benefit of society.

Client Services Agents
CILS is not a sales-based business; we are an education-based institution. As such, we do not hire “salespeople.” Our very helpful Client Services Agents (CSAs) are here to assist you with your language study goals and aspirations. There is no pressure, there are no tricky sales techniques, no waiting for hours to listen to a stressful sales pitch when you’d really like to go home. Our CSAs have a duty to you as a client to provide complete and honest information about CILS and to help you design a program that suits your individual needs. We’d like to assist you in meeting your goals as efficiently as possible. All our CSAs are also required to study a second language! They too, understand the challenges of learning a new language and they are more than happy to answer any questions you have about language learning, culture and CILS.
